Your Role
The Growth and Servicing Analytics Team at Blue Shield of California is on a mission to unlock the power of data to deliver better health outcomes for our members and create lasting financial and operational impact. As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll join a passionate team that oversees analytics related to Contact Center operations, Marketing, Claims, Customer Experience, and more! You will have the opportunity to partner with key stakeholders across the organization, leveraging data to drive improvements in experience, efficiency, and cost of healthcare.
You’ll play a pivotal role by analyzing complex data sets, building actionable reports, and identifying trends that help shape strategic decisions for the future of health care.
Your Work
In this dynamic role, you will:
- Unlock Insights: Analyze structured and unstructured data to uncover pain points and recommend actionable improvements to streamline operations and enhance customer experiences.
- Build Data Frameworks: Develop complex data sets that connect various data points to empower deeper insights and analytics.
- Drive Impact: Use statistics, regression models, and predictive analytics to understand key drivers such as call volume, call duration, and overall customer experience.
- Build Dashboards: Create visually impactful reports and dashboards that drive data-informed decision-making across the organization.
- Text Mining: Perform text mining and topic modeling to derive actionable insights from call transcripts, chat logs, and other verbatim sources.
What You Bring to the Table
We are looking for a seasoned Data Analyst with a background in health care and a passion for data-driven problem solving. Ideally, you have:
- Education & Experience: A Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Health Science, Statistics, or a related field, with 5+ years of relevant experience. Experience in managed care or health services research is a plus.
- Technical Expertise: Strong proficiency in SQL, Python, and experience with Machine Learning and predictive modeling techniques. Familiarity with cloud platforms (Azure, Google Cloud, Snowflake) and tools like Tableau is highly desirable.
- Contact Center Knowledge: Experience working with contact center data (tools such as Nuance, Avaya/Genesis, Verint/NICE, Five9) and understanding the customer journey is essential.
- Advanced Analytical Skills: Expertise in text mining, regression techniques, statistical modeling, and deriving insights from large data sets.
- Collaborative Spirit: Comfortable working with cross-functional teams to shape analytics frameworks and deliver impactful solutions.

Salary Range:
$99,000 to $148,500 (For California-based candidates)
