For over 40 years, we’ve been dedicated to transforming senior healthcare and are continuously innovating to ensure our services are accessible, effective, and meaningful.

Our team is composed of talented, passionate professionals who work collaboratively to support seniors on their aging journey. If you’re looking for an opportunity to be part of an organization that’s changing the future of healthcare, SCAN is the place for you.

The Role: Senior Data Analyst - Value-Based Healthcare Analytics
As a Senior Data Analyst, you’ll play a key role in supporting SCAN’s value-based care efforts through insightful analytics. This is an exciting opportunity for someone passionate about healthcare, data, and analytics to make an impact in a growing sector. You’ll work on projects that leverage clinical, pharmacy claims, demographic, care management, and other key datasets to evaluate financial risk, identify trends, and assess the performance of clinical programs. Your insights will directly influence SCAN’s strategy and growth in value-based partnerships.

What You’ll Do

  • Serve as the SME: Become the go-to expert in value-based care and shared risk utilization management analytics, providing thought leadership and answering complex business questions.
  • Develop Actionable Insights: Design and maintain models, dashboards, and reports that connect data to meaningful business outcomes. Use data visualization and storytelling to present insights to key stakeholders.
  • Identify Opportunities for Improvement: Research new tools and frameworks to improve care delivery, and identify gaps in current care models that can be addressed through data-driven strategies.
  • Support Financial Modeling: Work alongside payer strategy and network management teams to create financial models that help optimize value-based care contracts and expand partnerships.
  • Communicate with Impact: Deliver performance reports and recommendations to leadership, clearly conveying findings and opportunities for improvement.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement: Lead and coordinate analytics projects through challenging and time-sensitive scenarios, ensuring quality and timely deliverables.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with multiple departments—such as medical management, finance, risk adjustment, and care delivery—to provide data insights that support SCAN’s broader objectives.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: A Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) is preferred.
  • Experience: 3-5 years of experience in managed care analytics or healthcare data analysis, particularly in Medicare Advantage or medical economics.
  • Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, R, Python, Alteryx, and dashboard tools like Tableau or Power BI. Familiarity with Snowflake and Databricks is a plus.
  • Healthcare Knowledge: Deep understanding of healthcare informatics, utilization management, risk adjustment, and the use of clinical data (ICD, CPT, Rev codes, etc.).
  • Communication Skills: Strong oral and written communication skills, with the ability to present data findings clearly and concisely to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Proven track record of engaging with value-based care partners, including medical groups, IPAs, and payers, to align analytics with business needs.
