The Slomka Lab focuses on developing cutting-edge methods for fully automated analysis of nuclear cardiology data using advanced algorithms and machine learning techniques. We lead in the development of integrated motion-corrected analysis for PET/CT angiography imaging, and we are seeking passionate data scientists to join this transformative journey.
Develop and apply computational and statistical methods, including machine learning algorithms, to analyze complex biomedical data.
Query databases, process large data sets, and deploy production models.
Build sustainable data science infrastructure, adhering to best practices in machine learning and data analysis.
Lead exploratory data analysis and model evaluation.
Collaborate with senior data scientists, research programmers, and principal investigators to solve challenging biomedical research questions.
Present findings at laboratory meetings, scientific conferences, and through peer-reviewed publications.
Write clean, reusable code on GitHub for repeatable analyses and model deployments.
Innovate new algorithms and analytical methods.
Interpret and evaluate analytical models and results.
Communicate scientific outcomes through publications and presentations.
Support analytical training for faculty, staff, and students.
Education:
Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Applied Mathematics, Biomedical Imaging, or related fields (Master’s preferred).
Experience:
Up to 2 years of experience in healthcare industries working with electronic medical records or medical imaging data.
Intermediate to advanced programming skills in Python, C++, or R.
Healthcare machine learning experience is a plus.
Ability to stand, walk, sit, and lift up to 50 lbs. Must possess coordination and repetitive motion skills.

Competitive salary ranging from $78,400 to $133,100.
