What You’ll Do:

• Lead Technical Development: Drive the development of computer vision models from start to finish—leading data labeling, model training, and evaluation to create impactful business solutions.

• Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data engineers, machine learning engineers, subject matter experts, and change management professionals to align technical solutions with business goals.

• Data-Driven Decision Making: Lead conversations with business stakeholders to understand requirements, scope projects, and prioritize work to deliver measurable business value through data science.

• End-to-End Delivery: Participate in the full lifecycle of model development—from data extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) to building data products and presenting insights to stakeholders.

• Innovative Problem Solving: Apply machine learning techniques, statistical models, and algorithms to design and develop reproducible, scalable models for automating asset inspections and other critical business functions.

• Mentorship & Peer Review: As a senior data scientist, you will provide guidance, review models, and offer constructive feedback to junior data scientists, fostering a culture of growth and excellence.

• Stakeholder Communication: Present your findings and recommendations in a clear and actionable manner to business officers and senior management, driving data-backed decisions.

What We’re Looking For:

• Education:

  • Minimum: Bachelor's degree in Data Science, Machine Learning, Computer Science, Physics, Engineering, Mathematics, Applied Sciences, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Desired: Master’s degree in one of the above areas.

• Experience:

  • Minimum: 4 years of data science experience for business (or 2 years if you hold a Master’s degree).
  • Hands-on experience with machine learning models, data science pipelines, and model optimization.

• Technical Skills:

  • Strong expertise in Python (experience in machine learning libraries like TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn is a plus).
  • SQL experience to extract and manipulate data.
  • Familiarity with computer vision models, especially in the context of asset inspection (desired).
  • Experience with AWS technologies such as S3, GroundTruth, and SageMaker is highly desirable.

• Core Competencies:

  • Proficiency in data science standards and processes (model evaluation, optimization, feature engineering).
  • Ability to communicate complex technical concepts clearly to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Strong understanding of statistics, machine learning algorithms, and their real-world applications.
  • Competency in systems thinking to break down and solve complex problems.
  • Strong coaching and mentoring abilities, with a focus on developing career-level data scientists.
