  • Visualization & Reporting: Craft clear, actionable visualizations to communicate complex data to senior leaders, helping them make well-informed decisions on a range of projects.
  • Data Lake Development: Create and maintain a single source of truth by building an optimal data lake, ensuring data accuracy and currency across the board.
  • Automate & Optimize: Design and implement automated orchestration tools to streamline data flows, reduce manual processes, and ensure high levels of data availability and performance.
  • Build Scalable Infrastructure: Develop systems for the extraction, transformation, and loading (ETL) of data from diverse sources, ensuring seamless integration with our analytics pipeline.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work closely with stakeholders, including Executive, Product, Data, and Design teams, to identify and resolve data infrastructure challenges, and provide technical support for data-related issues.
  • Lead Data Modernization: Plan, execute, and lead data modernization initiatives, driving continuous improvement and growth within the organization’s data infrastructure.

What We’re Looking For:

  • Education & Experience:

    • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or related field, or equivalent experience.
    • Prior experience in Navy products, services, programs, and familiarity with military policies and procedures is a plus.
    • Secret-level security clearance or higher.
  • Technical Expertise:

    • Strong knowledge of application, data, and infrastructure architecture disciplines.
    • Proficiency in working with orchestration tools, containerization, cloud services, and compute/storage systems.
    • Familiarity with cloud-hosted applications and experience supporting distributed systems.
    • Hands-on experience with Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) practices (e.g., SLI/A/O, resiliency, scaling, performance).
    • Knowledge of networking protocols (TCP/IP, HTTP) and standard network architectures.
    • Ability to troubleshoot and resolve technical problems with confidence and ease.
  • Analytical & Problem-Solving Skills:

    • Strong research, analytical, and problem-solving capabilities to address complex IT and data challenges.
    • Ability to identify opportunities for process improvement, and successfully implement automated solutions to optimize operations.
  • Communication & Collaboration:

    • Ability to craft clear, concise reports and presentations for both technical and non-technical audiences.
    • Experience working diplomatically with staff, management, stakeholders, and vendors.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills to effectively convey ideas and insights.

Why This Role Rocks:

  • Make an Impact: Your work will influence major IT infrastructure projects, including cloud migrations and enterprise-wide data modernization efforts.
  • Work on Cutting-Edge Projects: You’ll be involved in projects that tackle real-world challenges in military and enterprise IT services, with direct influence on performance, security, and scalability.
  • Growth Opportunity: This role offers plenty of opportunities for learning and growth within the world of data science, cloud computing, and data architecture.
