About the Role:As a Data Scientist at Marlin Alliance, you’ll dive into massive data sets, uncover hidden insights, and create predictive models that shape the future. You will partner with stakeholders across various teams to identify opportunities that lead to smarter decisions, streamlined processes, and enhanced product development. This role combines technical expertise with real-world impact—helping the Navy solve complex challenges and enhance their mission outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to turn data into actionable business strategies that drive optimization and growth.
- Extract and analyze data from internal databases to improve product development, marketing strategies, and business performance.
- Build and implement custom data models, algorithms, and simulations to predict outcomes and enhance decision-making.
- Use advanced machine learning techniques to optimize customer experience, business outcomes, and ad targeting.
- Develop, implement, and monitor A/B testing frameworks to test model quality.
- Provide insight and recommendations through data visualizations, making complex data clear and actionable for stakeholders.
- Build a robust process for model performance monitoring and ensure data accuracy.
What We Need From You:
- A Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Technical, or related field.
- 3+ years of hands-on experience in Data Science.
- Active Secret Clearance (a must).
- Proficiency in coding languages like C, C++, Java, JavaScript, and familiarity with statistical and data mining techniques (GLM/Regression, Random Forest, Text Mining, etc.).
- Experience with data querying using R, Python, SQL, and working with web services like Redshift, S3, Spark.
- Proven experience in machine learning algorithms (regression, simulation, clustering, decision trees, etc.), and familiarity with distributed data tools like Hadoop, Hive, Spark.
- Solid experience visualizing data for key stakeholders using tools such as D3, ggplot, Periscope, etc.
Bonus Points If You Have:
- Experience working with the Navy or other Department of Defense agencies.
- Familiarity with tools like Google Analytics, Site Catalyst, Facebook Insights.
