From building and deploying models to sharing your insights with cross-functional teams, you’ll be an integral part of the Chewy mission!

What You'll Do:

  • Data Collection & Preparation: Gather, prioritize, and ensure the quality and integrity of data from diverse sources to set the foundation for analysis.
  • Exploratory Data Analysis: Dive deep into data to identify trends, patterns, and hidden insights using statistical techniques and compelling visualizations.
  • Feature Engineering: Enhance model performance by creating, transforming, and selecting new features from existing data.
  • Model Development: Apply statistical and machine learning techniques (e.g., regression, classification, clustering) to develop robust models that solve real-world problems.
  • Model Evaluation: Measure model performance using relevant metrics like accuracy, precision, recall, and fine-tune models to optimize results.
  • Communication: Translate complex data insights into clear, understandable findings and share them with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
  • Visualization & Storytelling: Create engaging visualizations to present data insights and tell a compelling, data-driven story.
  • Cross-Functional Collaboration: Partner with product managers, engineers, and business analysts to understand needs and create data-driven solutions that drive business success.

What We're Looking For:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Statistics, Computer Science, or related field.
  • 3+ years of experience as a Data Scientist, with a proven track record of delivering impactful data solutions.
  • Proficiency in Python or R, including data manipulation libraries (Pandas, NumPy, etc.).
  • Experience with SQL and relational databases to query, manipulate, and manage large datasets.
  • Strong grasp of statistical modeling, machine learning, and deep learning algorithms.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills, with the ability to simplify and present complex concepts clearly.

Nice to Have:

  • Familiarity with cloud computing platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP, Snowflake).
  • Experience with big data technologies (Spark, Iceberg, dbt).
  • Familiarity with AWS cloud technologies (Glue, Sagemaker, Athena, Redshift).
  • Experience with data visualization tools (Tableau, Streamlit, Text to SQL).
  • Knowledge of the retail and e-commerce industry, especially related to customer experience.
