The Opportunity:
As part of our Global Data Science & Analytics (GDSA) team within the Abbott Medical Devices division, you will play a critical role in leading the development and execution of data science projects that tackle some of the most challenging and exciting healthcare problems today. Collaborating with a team of talented scientists and engineers, you will drive solutions that make a direct impact on Abbott’s life-saving products.
As the Business Relationship Manager, you’ll be the crucial bridge between business teams (Marketing, Commercial/Sales, Clinical) and our data science experts. Your job? Understand the business needs and work with our data science team to design solutions that exceed expectations.
What You’ll Do:
- Lead Impactful Projects: Manage data science projects that are medium-to-large in scope, working across teams in multiple locations. You'll ensure projects align with both short-term and long-term business goals.
- Drive Innovation: Work with our GDSA team to design data-driven solutions to solve complex medical and business problems—leveraging machine learning, AI, statistical modeling, and more.
- Bridge Business and Data Science: Translate business needs into actionable data science solutions. You’ll communicate these needs clearly and ensure our projects meet the highest standards.
- Tell the Data Story: Use your storytelling and data visualization skills to communicate complex findings to senior management, stakeholders, and diverse teams. Whether it's a report or a presentation, you'll make sure your message resonates.
- Build Relationships: Foster strong, collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your ability to navigate complex, cross-functional environments will ensure project success.
- Travel Opportunities: You'll travel approximately 10% of the time, including potential international travel to our GDSA team in Mumbai, India.
What We’re Looking For:
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in Data Science, Business, Life Sciences, Engineering, or a related field. An equivalent combination of education and work experience is also acceptable.
- Experience: 5-8 years of experience in medical devices, healthcare analytics, or related fields. Experience with a global company is a plus.
- Skills: Strong problem-solving skills, project management expertise, and the ability to prioritize and execute across multiple functions. You should also be adept at communicating complex ideas through clear and compelling visualizations and reports.
- Innovative Mindset: A creative, analytical thinker who can design and execute data science projects that solve critical business problems.
- Cross-functional Expertise: Ability to work effectively across a matrixed, geographically diverse business model.
- Travel-Ready: Willingness and ability to travel internationally (approximately 10%).
Preferred Qualifications:
- Master’s degree in a relevant field.
- Experience with insurance claims data and medical claims billing/coding is a plus.
- Experience with cross-divisional business models and enterprise-level projects.

Base Pay Range: $97,300.00 – $194,700.00 (specific pay may vary by location).
