What You’ll Do:
As an Applied Scientist, ML Applications, you’ll be at the heart of this exciting journey, combining scientific rigor with technical expertise to deliver scalable solutions that shape the employee experience at Amazon. Your work will directly influence the way our global teams interact, collaborate, and thrive.
Key responsibilities include:
- Innovative ML Solutions: Design, develop, and evaluate advanced machine learning models to address diverse business challenges and improve Amazon’s employee experience.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Partner with economists, scientists, engineers, and product teams to define the science vision, turn complex problems into concrete solutions, and deploy your work into production.
- Thought Leadership: Be a thought leader within PXTCS, driving scientific innovation while advancing the team’s engineering practices and contributing to groundbreaking projects.
- Solve Complex Problems: Work closely with stakeholders across the company to understand business needs and develop scalable ML solutions that deliver impactful results.
- Contribute to Research: Publish your findings and research at top-tier peer-reviewed conferences and journals, advancing the broader field of applied science and machine learning.
Who We’re Looking For:
We’re seeking a hands-on Applied Scientist who has both deep technical expertise and the ability to collaborate across diverse teams to drive impact at scale.
Essential Qualifications:
- Proficiency in programming languages such as Java, C++, Python, or similar languages.
- Strong experience with SQL and relational databases (e.g., Oracle) or Data Warehouses.
- Hands-on experience implementing algorithms using both toolkits and self-developed code.
- Proven ability to translate business problems into ML solutions and deploy models at scale.
- Solid academic or professional background with publications in top-tier conferences or journals.
Desired Qualifications:
- Experience working on large-scale ML applications and deploying solutions in production environments.
- Background in econometrics, behavioral science, human resources, or related fields is a plus.
- Passion for solving real-world problems using data and driving business transformation.
