What You'll Be Doing:

As a Senior Data Scientist at Verizon, you’ll be at the heart of a team that’s transforming data into actionable insights and driving strategic decision-making. You’ll work on a variety of projects, applying cutting-edge machine learning, data analytics, and statistical modeling to tackle complex business challenges and uncover new opportunities for innovation.

You will be responsible for leading data-driven initiatives, mentoring junior team members, and collaborating closely with cross-functional teams. Your expertise will guide the development of predictive models, advanced analytics, and data solutions that power Verizon’s products, services, and customer experiences.

Key Responsibilities:

• Data Strategy & Leadership: Lead the development of data science strategies to solve business problems and identify new opportunities. Act as a thought leader, contributing to the long-term vision for how Verizon leverages data.
• Predictive Modeling & Analytics: Build and deploy machine learning models, statistical models, and data-driven solutions to improve operational efficiencies and customer experience.
• Collaboration & Mentorship: Work closely with product, engineering, and business teams to understand their needs and provide actionable insights. Mentor and guide junior data scientists, fostering an environment of learning and growth.
• Data Exploration & Insights: Conduct in-depth data analysis, build visualizations, and communicate insights that help influence strategic decision-making. Translate complex data into clear, actionable recommendations for stakeholders.
• Innovation & Impact: Stay at the forefront of data science advancements and bring new techniques and tools to the table to continuously improve the impact of your work.

What We’re Looking For:

We’re looking for a passionate and skilled Senior Data Scientist who thrives in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. If you are a natural problem solver with a strong background in data science, machine learning, and analytics, you’ll fit right in. You should be comfortable tackling complex challenges, leading projects, and working with diverse teams to make data-driven decisions that have a direct impact on Verizon’s business.

Qualifications:

• Experience: 5+ years of experience in Data Science, with a proven track record of building and deploying machine learning models in a production environment.
• Technical Skills: Expertise in Python, R, or similar languages. Proficiency in libraries like Pandas, NumPy, Scikit-Learn, TensorFlow, and PyTorch.
• Machine Learning & Modeling: Strong background in supervised and unsupervised learning, predictive modeling, natural language processing (NLP), and deep learning.
• Data Engineering: Experience with ETL pipelines, SQL, and big data technologies (Hadoop, Spark, etc.).
• Business Acumen: Ability to translate business needs into data-driven solutions and communicate findings clearly to non-technical stakeholders.
• Education: A degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related field. A Master’s or Ph.D. is preferred but not required.
