  • AI & ML for the Future: Develop and implement cutting-edge machine learning models, optimization algorithms, and AI solutions to solve GM’s toughest challenges. Your work will impact everything from product development to customer experiences.

  • Collaboration is Key: Work closely with fellow scientists, engineers, product managers, and cross-functional teams to turn your innovative ideas into reality. At GM, we don’t just rely on data—we build solutions together.

  • Build, Deploy, Optimize: From initial investigations to proof-of-concept to deployment, you’ll take the lead in building solutions that scale across multiple product workstreams. You'll be hands-on from end to end in the data science lifecycle.

  • Data Visualization: You’ll turn complex data into compelling stories using data visualization tools like Tableau or Power BI to communicate insights to both technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Maintain Model Effectiveness: You’ll monitor and sustain the performance of your models in production, continuously improving and optimizing them to ensure GM stays at the cutting edge of data science and AI.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Mathematics, Physics, or a related field. Master’s/Ph.D. highly preferred.

  • Experience: 3+ years (or 2 years with a Master’s degree) working in Data Science, AI, or ML. You’ve built predictive models, used optimization algorithms, and tackled real-world challenges with data.

  • Skills:

    • Python proficiency is essential.
    • Expertise in areas like forecasting, clustering, classification, optimization, deep learning, and NLP.
    • Familiarity with SQL, Databricks, and other cloud-based platforms.
    • Experience with data visualization tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI) to present insights.
  • Collaboration: Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with experience working cross-functionally with product teams, developers, and engineers.

  • Problem-Solving Mindset: A solutions-oriented thinker who can take complex business questions and translate them into actionable, data-driven solutions.

What Sets You Apart (Preferred Qualifications):

  • Experience with Databricks.
  • A Master’s or Ph.D. in Computer Science, Statistics, or a related field.
  • Passion for working on projects that have a real-world impact—such as AI applications in the automotive industry.
  • Familiarity with Generative AI, LLMs, and emerging machine learning technologies.
