About the Role:As a Principal Data Scientist at o9 Solutions, you’ll be at the forefront of revolutionizing supply chain planning through advanced Predictive Analytics, Machine Learning, and AI. You’ll create, deploy, and refine complex forecasting models that will empower some of the largest global enterprises to make smarter decisions and fuel their growth.
You'll dive into use cases like Demand Planning, Supply Planning, Market Mix Modeling, and Price Elasticity—crafting solutions that help businesses optimize their supply chains, minimize waste, and accelerate their impact on the world.
In this role, you'll collaborate closely with internal teams and customers to ensure that our models meet real-world needs and deliver actionable insights. This is a leadership role that blends hands-on technical skills with a passion for customer success.
What You’ll Do:
- End-to-End Modeling: Research, design, develop, and deploy advanced machine learning models to drive predictive analytics and forecasting for supply chain planning.
- Collaborate Across Teams: Work with solution architects, engineers, product managers, and business teams to ensure models align with customer needs and strategic goals.
- Data-Driven Storytelling: Present and explain complex analytics to stakeholders, translating data insights into clear business recommendations that drive action.
- Lead & Guide: Mentor junior data scientists, providing guidance on best practices, model development, and the application of machine learning in supply chain optimization.
- Optimization & Segmentation: Apply machine learning to solve real-world problems like market optimization, inventory planning, and store segmentation.
- Visualization & Communication: Use your expertise to visualize complex data and create actionable insights, helping stakeholders understand how data drives decisions.
What You’ll Bring:
- Experience: 5+ years of data science and data analytics experience, with a deep understanding of supply chain planning. Specialized in Demand Forecasting, Predictive Analysis, and Market Optimization.
- Technical Skills: Proficiency in R, Python, Pyspark, and SQL; experience with machine learning frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, or PyTorch is a plus.
- Time Series Mastery: Expertise in time series forecasting techniques, such as ARIMA, exponential smoothing, and prophet for high-scale, real-time demand sensing.
- Data Engineering: Hands-on experience with Big Data tools like Hadoop, Spark, and Hive for distributed computing and scalable ML frameworks.
- Analytical Expertise: Experience developing models and using statistical techniques to solve business problems and drive market innovation.
- Education: Master’s in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or related field.

- Exposure to deep learning frameworks and distributed data/computing tools.
- Familiarity with planning applications and working in environments that require high scalability.
- Previous experience with global companies and understanding their unique supply chain challenges.

Compensation & Benefits:
- Competitive Salary: $130,000 - $200,000, based on experience.
