Design Technology Data Scientist
Location: On-Site, Dallas, TX

Job Description:

About Gensler:At Gensler, we’re reimagining the world through design and technology. Our Global Design Technology Studio is the heart of this transformation, where we leverage cutting-edge tools and methodologies to shape the future of architecture, engineering, and construction (AEC). We're all about pushing boundaries—using data and design to unlock new levels of creativity and efficiency. And now, we're looking for a Data Scientist to help us bring this vision to life.

Your Role:As a Data Scientist in the Global Design Technology Studio, you’ll be at the forefront of Gensler’s digital transformation, connecting data-rich design authoring tools to create innovative solutions that help our teams and clients make better, more impactful design decisions. Your work will span across machine learning (ML), predictive modeling, and data pipelines, helping us deliver actionable insights that directly influence design outcomes.

You'll collaborate with a highly creative, multidisciplinary team of data scientists, designers, and engineers to transform data into insights that optimize the design process—driving efficiency and unlocking new creative possibilities. Whether it's using AI-driven algorithms, exploring trends in geospatial or proprietary data, or implementing generative AI models, you’ll play a pivotal role in shaping the future of design.

What You’ll Do:

  • Transform Data into Insights: Develop and deploy ML classification algorithms to analyze data from design tools, identifying trends and insights that inform design decisions.
  • Collaborate Across Teams: Work with Data Engineering, designers, and project teams to build data pipelines in MS Azure, delivering insights to visualization platforms and Gensler’s internal tools.
  • Innovative Solutions: Dive deep into the integration of additional datasets like geospatial, operational, and client-specific data, creating a holistic view that drives smarter design processes.
  • AI Integration: Research and implement generative AI and machine learning models, focusing on LLMs and NLP, to optimize design and project delivery.
  • Upskill the Team: Mentor project teams on how to implement advanced PowerBI solutions, upskilling them to leverage the full potential of data-driven design.
  • Shape the Future of AEC Technology: Stay ahead of industry trends, researching emerging technologies and driving the strategic insights that will define the next generation of design.

What You Bring to the Table:

  • Education & Experience: Bachelor's or Master’s in Data Science, Statistics, Applied Math, or Computer Science. With 10+ years of hands-on experience in data science, machine learning, and predictive modeling (preferably in the AEC industry).
  • Technical Mastery: Strong experience in Azure services, including Azure Machine Learning, Azure Databricks, Azure Data Factory, and proficiency in SQL, Python, and R.
  • ML & AI Expertise: Solid experience in developing end-to-end machine learning pipelines, including generative AI, LLMs, and NLP for data analysis and model deployment.
  • Data Visualization Savvy: Skilled in creating compelling visualizations using tools like PowerBI, plotly, seaborn, and Streamlit to help stakeholders make data-driven decisions.
  • Cloud & DevOps Know-How: Experience with serverless compute services (e.g., Azure Functions), REST APIs, and tools like Git for collaborative development.
  • Creative Collaboration: Ability to work in a highly creative environment and collaborate on innovative solutions to complex design problems.
  • Bonus Skills: Experience with Computer Vision, C#, and Microsoft Fabric is a plus.
